The video quality of content that you stream over a network, including over the internet, is affected by the quality of that network. To stream high-quality video formats, you need a fast connection. Apple recommends a minimum speed of 25 Mbps for 4K streaming.
Your Studio Display comes with 90 days of complimentary technical support and a one-year limited warranty. Purchase AppleCare+ to extend your coverage from your AppleCare+ purchase date and add unlimited repairs for accidental damage from handling, each subject to a service fee of $99 for screen damage or external enclosure damage, or $299 for other repairable accidental damage, plus applicable tax.
How Do I Purchase 5k Content For My Mac Pro
I've been a professional video editor for nearly a decade. I worked in Hollywood for seven years editing and producing sizzle reels and pilots for TV development, worked on a video series for Spotify and edited digital content for America's Got Talent. In the three years prior to joining CNET, I ran my own tech YouTube channel where I edited nearly all my videos.
I purchased the 14-inch when it was first released in late 2021, and at the time it felt like my best option. An Intel-powered Mac Pro desktop would have been overkill for my editing needs, not to mention way too expensive for my budget. Had the Mac Studio come out alongside the new MacBook Pros, I most likely would have opted to go for that instead.
That's a significant price difference, and the fact that I already own a great 5K display, keyboard and mouse means it wouldn't require a lot of extra purchases. It would have been an easy decision to grab a Mac Studio for my home office and use the older 16-inch MacBook Pro (2016) I already owned as an on-the-go editing system.
Now, if you don't already own a monitor, then the Mac Studio may not be as much of a deal as I find it to be. If the purchase of a monitor isn't a deal-breaker, there's the $1,600-and-up Studio Display, but there are less-expensive options as well.
Although 5k monitors aren't as common as their 4k counterparts, they're starting to grow in availability and popularity, especially among content creators who need sharp images. A 5k resolution is a broad term to refer to monitors with 5120 horizontal pixels, but they come in various shapes and with different vertical resolutions. A true 5k monitor has a 5120x2880 resolution and is ideal for macOS due to the higher pixel density. For this article, we also consider 5120x1440 and 5120x2160 (also known as 5k2k) as 5k monitors because of the horizontal resolution, and they're good for multitasking. A 5k resolution doesn't define a monitor's performance, as you still need good picture quality and color accuracy.
If you have a Windows PC or want something bigger than the 27-inch screen of the Apple Studio Display, then the LG 40WP95C-W is also a great choice for content creators. With a 5120x2160 resolution and 21:9 aspect ratio, this 5k monitor is the equivalent of a 4k model but with a wider display, giving you extra room to open multiple windows. However, the text clarity and pixel density aren't as good as on the Apple monitor. Still, it's great for content creators because its sRGB mode comes factory calibrated, the color accuracy is excellent, and it displays a wide range of colors in SDR. It also supports HDR, which the Apple monitor doesn't, which is great if you're a video editor and work in HDR.
Note that you should in any case back up your essential data with Get Backup Pro before erasing content and settings. No matter which macOS your Mac runs on, having a copy of important files is a must.
I purchased both the LG Display and the Mac Book Pro at the local Apple store within the last six months. After having the display serviced at the authorized LG facility I still have the same problem,. It feels like Apple should take some ownership in resolving this issue. When I call 800 APL CARE they are of no help.
The thing is, machines like the Mac Pro and the iMac Pro are better suited for demanding, multi-threaded applications that can fully take advantage of their processing power. Unless you stitch a lot of super high-res panoramas, or edit 4K+ content and need all the CPU cores, RAM and GPU you can get, there is no point in getting them. For standard post-processing work in Lightroom and Photoshop, the iMac is going to be your best bet, plain and simple.
At the same time, the iMac Pro is a very powerful machine that has its uses. Those who run memory and processor-intensive tasks that need as many resources as possible, such as when stitching high-resolution HDR panoramas, or when working with 4K+ video content, will definitely benefit from the iMac Pro. This is the type of machine that video production studios often use.

Love the insight and breakdown of each category; I just recently bought a 2017 iMac 21.5 inch display with the i5 processor and 8gb of ram (so lowest model of 2017) and was wondering if this was a good purchase for photos and graphics or if I should really sell this and upgrade to a better unit? Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated ??

The M1 MacBook Air video editing software Filmora is mainly similar to the Windows version. However, it contains extensive features, including Auto Reframe, which crops broad content to fit into social-post sizes, either the vertical phone view for "stories" or the square Instagram format.
The entry- and enthusiast-level video editing tools include templates that assist you in arranging your content for a coherent, compelling presentation. Premiere Elements' Smart Trim and iMovie's Trailer tools and templates are standouts among these possibilities.
